The Wonderful World of Cell Salts – Part Five

incrustation-1206669_1280

As we come to the end of our little study on the 12 Cell Salts, there are two more Cell Salts to tell you about.

#11  Natrum Sulphuricum (Sodium sulphate)–Nat. Sulph. is found in the intercellular fluids (the fluid between each cell). Draws water out of the cells helping them to breakdown to be recycled. Used for influenza, humid asthma, malaria, liver ailments, vesicular eruptions containing serum, herpes, twitching of hands and feet, constipation, liver and kidney disorders, gallbladder troubles, earache, burning in nose and mouth, brownish green coating of the tongue, bitter taste in the mouth, enlarged prostate and awakening at night with asthma attacks.

#12  Silicea (Silicic acid or silica)–Silicea is found in connective tissue and in the brain. Found in bran, egg whites, hair, nails, epidermis, and in connective tissue. Used for fatigue, greater mental than physical strength, over-sensitivity to noises, absentmindedness, crankiness, headaches from nape of neck to top of head settling in one eye, nausea, nervous exhaustion, falling hair, sties, floating spots before eyes, red tip of nose, violent sneezing, thickening of nasal mucus membranes with congestion, intensely painful hemorrhoids, large abdomen in children, uric acid deposits in urine, smelly feet and armpits, pus formation, boils, tonsillitis, stomach pains, brittle / ribbed nails with white spots and weak ankles.

And so we come to the end of our little study on the 12 Cell Salts: we owe Dr Schuessler quite a debt for bringing so much knowledge of the human body to light….and I think this so humbling as well. “Remember oh man, that dust thou are and to dust thou shall return”

Then we have the newest scenario…GMO. Genetically Modified Organism. This horror story is beyond the scope of this author. I will say only, that once upon a time, I had formed a local task force of mothers and others, concerned with pesticides being blatantly used on foods and without concern for neighboring population….I petitioned and spoke at state hearings, working to change application practices, etc….then GMO was by law, allowed to the top of the food chain. It was no longer mandatory for production facilities to label the presence of GMO in food on grocery store shelves. …To my horror, when I was suddenly faced with this new challenge, I literally crumbled with fear. Fear for my family and for this nation. And honestly, I personally perceived this to be the greatest threat to mankind thus far. I quit my war on pesticides and decided to quietly turn my attention to teaching those whom God Placed in my world, how to stay away from foods that harm and where to find foods that nourish…. I felt that this along with alternative medicine was my only calling.

The Wonderful World of Matter – Cell Salts Part Four

crystal-955935_1280

As we are drawing closer to the end of our short study on Schuessler’s 12 Cell Salts, I have 3 more wonderful cell salts to tell you about.  These 3 salts are:

#8  Magnesia Phosphorica (Magnesium phosphate)–Mag. Phos. is contained in beer and cereals. Note a craving for beer may mean a deficiency of Mag. Phos. It is a constituent of bone, teeth, white matter of brain tissue, nerve, muscle and blood cells. Used for headaches with darting stabs of pain, muscular twitching, rheumatic pains, throat spasms, muscle cramps, hiccoughs, squinting, teething, hypertrophy of the prostate gland, colic, asthma, spasmodic palpitation of the heart, spasmodic yawning, menstrual pain, stomach cramps, flatulence, neuralgia, sciatica, insomnia from brain exhaustion and in profuse sweating.

Many naturopaths believe that magnesium is the most deficient mineral in modern man. Magnesium nourishes the nerve centre and is essential to all functions of the body. According to a famous Dr. in Denmark, it is the common denominator of persons with Asperger’s disease (which this mom believes to be the precursor of Autism, following immunizations). Magnesium is essential to the proper uptake of calcium; without it, calcium cannot be utilized by the body. Pure Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulphate) can be bathed in at least once a week, for an efficient mineral bath. (soap should not be used in the tub with the salts, as this can inhibit the uptake of the mineral)  The body will absorb only what it needs, providing an affordable and sensible way to make sure that the whole family is getting the exact amount of essential magnesium.

#9  Natrum Muriaticum ( Sodium Chloride)–Nat. Mur. is a constituent of every liquid and solid in the body. A salt craving is indicative of deficiency, but the molecules of table salt are so big they cannot attach to the cells. It is the most important cell salt of the body as all the other cells are dependent on it for their distribution. Used for delirium tremors, eyestrain, vomiting of watery mucous, hay fever, low spirits, heartburn, toothaches, craving for salt and salty foods, weak eyes, either excess of heavy sleep or insomnia, falling hair, early morning headaches, headaches with constipation, chronic constipation due to dehydration, rapid pulse intermittent with palpitation, hangnails, cracked finger tips, numbness of the hands and feet and greasy skin.

#10  Natrum Phosphoricum (Sodium Phosphate)–Nat. Phos. is found in blood, muscles, nerves and brain cells and in intracellular fluid. Converts lactic acid into its byproducts. Used for gout, stiffness, swollen joints, lumbago, inflammatory rheumatism, high cholesterol, acid blood, headaches on top of the head, sour breath, pain over and inside the eyeballs, red blotched tongue coated yellow at the root, nausea, loss of appetite and habitual constipation.

Sodium is an unstable element and will never be found in nature as a single element. When sodium finds it’s anion (companion element) it is naturally nourishing and beneficial to the body. The best way to get proper sodium is in and through our diet. Himalayan salt and Redmonds salt are the two best ways that this mom knows of to get the proper balance of naturally occurring sodium in a mineral form.

Join me again next week as we learn about the last 2 cell salts.  If you would like to go a little more in-depth with your study, check out my Podcasts on  Cell Salts.

The Wonderful World of Matter – Cell Salts Part Three

celery-753293_1280

In this week’s blog, I am going to continue to share with you more about Schuessler’s Cell Salts; the 12 Elements that make up the solid matter of the human body.  These are the solid elements God used when He created man.  We use the Cell salts homeopathically to trigger the body into balancing itself when stress or lack of sleep or some other factor knocks us out of balance.

Over the last few weeks I told you a little bit about the first 4 Cell Salts: Calcarea Fluorica (Calc. Fluor.), Calcarea Phosphorica (Calc. Phos.), Calcarea Sulphurica (Calc. Sulph.), and Ferrum Phosphoricum (Ferr. Phos.).  This week I am going to tell you about the Kali’s.

Kali is Potassium. It is written that the perfect form of potassium and Sodium can be found in organically grown celery. The stalk contains the perfect form of sodium and the leaves the perfect balance of potassium in proportion to the sodium. (sodium needs potassium in order to be of proper benefit) Good Sodium is essential to cell function. The Kali’s are:

#5  Kali Muriaticum (Potassium Chloride)–Kali Mur. has a special affinity for fibrin (thin, tough tissue) and is useful in diseases causing blisters. Indicated in all inflammatory or catarrhal conditions such as chickenpox, measles, burns and scalds, leucorrhea (white blood cells flowing out of the system via diarrhea), jaundice, acne and asthma. It is also used for sluggish conditions, sore throat, white colored tongue, light colored stools, coughs and colds.

#6  Kali Phosphoricum (Potassium phosphate)–Kali Phos. is in all cells, especially the gray matter of the brain, nerves, muscles, blood cells and plasma. All oxidation processes use this. The exchange of gasses in respiration and breakdown of fatty tissue depends on it. It is natures’ great “antiseptic” hindering decay in the organism. A remedy for offensive secretions and excretions, for nerve depression or excitement, sexual impotence, nervous headaches, lack of pep, ill humor, skin ailments, occasional sleeplessness, timidity, tantrums, loss of nerve and mental power or after great mental and bodily strain, and for nervous giddiness and squinting.

#7  Kali Sulphuricum (Potassium sulphate)–Kali Sulph. is found in epidermis and epithelial cells. Carries oxygen to the cells. Used for hot flashes; chills; weariness; heaviness; giddiness; boxed in feelings; stomach catarrh (mucus); inflammatory conditions; eruptions of the skin; shifting pains; palpitations; anxiety; fear; sadness; toothaches; headaches and pains in limbs that tend to increase indoors especially in warm and close rooms or in the warm air of the summer; yellow/slimy catarrhal discharges; dandruff; psoriasis and diseases of the nails (rough or ribbed).

Good Sodium is essential to cell function. Without it, there is improper cellular function and all processes will be incomplete. Of course there is the famous banana as well for potassium; but remember to eat organic!  Pay the extra 30 cents a pound, just eat less if need be!  Remember, it is so very important for all of the minerals of our body to be balanced and in proper proportion. Even a healthy body can use the help of the cell salts on occasion; in addition to getting your proper nutrition through your Food!

At our family store, The Outpost Mercantile, we now offer all 12 Cell Salts in 12x potency.  This is the perfect potency for using the Cell Salts to help balance your body.

The Wonderful World of Matter – Cell Salts Part Two

salt-91539_1280

Last week I introduced you to the first two of Schuessler’s Cell Salts, Calcarea Fluorica and Calcarea Phosphorica.  I also told you a little bit about the wonderful world of matter.  We are made up of matter.  We eat matter.  Therefore, the type of matter we eat is so important if we actually want to nourish our bodies.  Our bodies are made of the same matter that is growing in a healthy field and we need this “real” food to stay healthy and strong.

The Cell salts are the 12 Elements that make up the solid matter of the human body.  These are the solid elements that God used when He created man.

The wonderful thing about the Cell Salts is that we can use them homeopathically to trigger the body into balancing itself when we get out of balance from stress, lack of sleep, etc.  We can use these cell salts, on top of proper nutrition, to help bring our bodies back into balance.

The next two Cell Salts I would like to tell you about are:

#3  Calcarea Sulphurica (Sulphate of lime)- Calc. Sulph. In nature occurs as gypsum, alabaster, selenite or commercially known as “plaster of Paris”. Present in connective tissue and in liver cells. Used for cellular regeneration; infection causing pus; pimples, sore throats, colds, pancreatic, liver and kidney disturbances; frontal headaches with nausea; excessive sensitivity of nerves as well as cravings for fruit and acids.

#4 Ferrum Phosphoricum (Phosphate of Iron)- Ferrum Phos. is found in all cells of the body but primarily in the hemoglobin of red blood cells and in the muscle cells of the blood and lymph vessels and in hair cells. Used for acute phases of disease. Increases body development; regulates the bowels; improves the appetite and relieves debility and listlessness. Also used in vomiting of food and blood; nosebleeds; teething fever; inflamed hemorrhoids; retention of urine in children; excessive menses; congestion, inflammatory pain in general, high temperatures, increased heart rates, insomnia and congestive headaches.

We need all of the minerals of our body to be balanced and in proper proportion. At any given time, the symptoms of imbalance occur. The corresponding cell salt taken in an as needed fashion will once again bring balance. Even a healthy body can use the help of the cell salts on occasion. Always remember though, to be getting your proper nutrition through your Food!

Join me again next week, as we explore more about the wonderful world of Cell Salts!

The Wonderful World of Matter – Cell Salts Part One

corn-407106_1280

Any substance taking up space is considered to be matter. This is an interesting statement. We are made up of matter. We eat matter. So why does certain matter nourish, and other matter poison?

(Please stay with me over the next few weeks as this tale of the farmers field unfolds into a wonderful lesson on Schuessler’s Cell Salts!)

My Dad used to say that corn knee high by the 4th of July will make it…it will ripen before first frost. A good farmer is one of the most intuitive of men. He knows how to read the weather, he knows when to plant and when to harvest. A good farmer understands the soil. Crops need food to grow, real food in order to become nutritious as the end product, our food!

Up until 50 yrs. ago all food was grown naturally. I say naturally because the soil was turned and cultivated, worked and fertilized with composted manure and spent straw. The soil was rich in nutrients. Earth worms were abundant to keep the soil rich and aerated.

Yes, there would be diseased corn or spindly wheat on occasion, due to insect invasion, too much rain, or some other weather related issue; which is where prayer came in abundance throughout the growing and harvest season. The farmer and his family, and all the towns people prayed for good crops to feed the local families and their animals. This basic acknowledgment of God, Creator and Care Taker, led to a natural chain of events that kept man in sync with his work, his God and his fellow man. Charity of heart and humble prayer, naturally kept the economy strong and healthy.

Matter of the human body. These are the solid elements that God used when He created man. So why am I telling you this story about crops? Over the next couple weeks, you’ll see the connection between the fields that our crops are grown in and how actual food can nourish our bodies or poison them.

The majority of crops would be harvested with a joyous and profitable end. The animals on the farm would have their winter’s fair and the farmer almost always had plenty of grain left to sell as a cash crop to keep all other aspects of the farm running smoothly. It was a cycle. A full cycle of cows and hogs eating, and the manure being composted, put back on the fields, the crops being planted, harvested, fed…etc.

Today our food is grown by specialized farmers, tomatoes-1539503_1280
mostly through no fault of their own.  Man was quietly led down the media road of the local Ag economist; educated people led us to believe that there is no other way than to  “go with the flow” of changing traditional farming practices.  Government programs subtly instituted what seemed like good projects that turned the tables on the farmer, who suddenly found himself in a situation of, “there is no other way”, We can’t feed the world if we don’t do it this way…yes, even the farmers believed this, the most intuitive of men!

Farmers now use commercial fertilizer; nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. All naturally occurring elements of course but not from a composted source. Today most fertilizer comes from a manufactured source. A strong combination of elements so rich and powerful that it will actually burn the plant if exposed. This commercial fertilizer also burns the ground, making life for the little earthworm an eventual impossibility. Fresh manure from what the farmer calls “the pit” acts much the same way, because often it does not have the straw (for making bricks, so to speak) to aid in the composting process and often goes out onto the fields, hot and burning. (Composting breaks down the manure so that it becomes rich food for plants. It literally transforms back into a dark soil loaded with micro nutrients… food. Not the strong burning element of fresh manure. )……Then toxic sprays are used to kill the pests or fungus that eat or destroy plants. This new way of farming, this “new” cycle is not the most conducive to rich delicious, nutritious food, to say the least.

Our bodies are made of the same matter that is growing in a healthy field. We need this “real” food to stay healthy and strong. Without this deep nutrition, we will starve to death. It is that simple. So now that you have a basic understanding of where “real” food comes from, I thought we’d spend a bit of time and discuss the cell salts: The 12 Elements that make up the solid Matter of the human body. These are the solid elements that God used when He created man.

We use the Cell salts homeopathically to trigger the body into balancing itself, when stress or lack of sleep or some other factor knocks us out of balance, we use the cell salts to bring it back. But I cannot stress enough how important it is that the body gets the proper nutrition in the first place!

fruit-1234507_1280Eat Well! Feed your family Organic well rounded meals….Good Grass Fed Meat, Organic Fruits and Vegetables and make sure they are getting plenty, and I mean plenty of fun type exercise (working or playing) and sunshine!

You can use the Cell Salts in low potency to bring balance and health!

The first few Cell Salts I would like to tell you about are…

#1  Calcarea Fluorica (Fluoride of Lime)- Calc. Fluor. is found in enamel of bones and teeth, elastic fibers of the skin, connective tissue and in the blood vessels. It is used for bony tumors; sluggish circulation; cracks in the skin, loss of elasticity; rough, loose and sensitive teeth; delayed dentition; relaxation of tissues and blood vessels causing flabby flesh; varicose veins; hemorrhoids and displacements of organs.

#2 Calcarea Phosphorica (Phosphate of Lime)- Calc. Phos. is found in fertile soil, new blood cells, bone, gastric juices and dentin of teeth. It is used for growth problems; broken bones; cramps; spasms; numbness; cold feelings in the body and head; sluggish circulation; susceptibility to colds and mucous; spinal curvature; sore breasts; chronic tonsillitis; cracks in the skin and night sweats.

Real elements found in the soil, taken up by the plants that we either eat directly or that the animals graze upon. Organic June grass that the cows graze on produces the most nutritious milk and cream of the year. Free range chickens, sheep, goats and other animals are healthiest during this plentiful time of year. We reap the benefits of these delicious foods and our bodies can actually store many of these rich mineral nutrients for as long as a year! And of course, when the young animals are butchered in the fall that have been nourished on rich summer soil, we again, reap the benefits of deep nutrition for our bodies.

This is how God designed the natural process of food supply. We are supposed to eat some animal protein and this is best case scenario for healthy animal protein, and essential animal fats.

Join me again next week as we explore more about the wonderful world of Cell Salts!
