As we are drawing closer to the end of our short study on Schuessler’s 12 Cell Salts, I have 3 more wonderful cell salts to tell you about.  These 3 salts are:

#8  Magnesia Phosphorica (Magnesium phosphate)–Mag. Phos. is contained in beer and cereals. Note a craving for beer may mean a deficiency of Mag. Phos. It is a constituent of bone, teeth, white matter of brain tissue, nerve, muscle and blood cells. Used for headaches with darting stabs of pain, muscular twitching, rheumatic pains, throat spasms, muscle cramps, hiccoughs, squinting, teething, hypertrophy of the prostate gland, colic, asthma, spasmodic palpitation of the heart, spasmodic yawning, menstrual pain, stomach cramps, flatulence, neuralgia, sciatica, insomnia from brain exhaustion and in profuse sweating.

Many naturopaths believe that magnesium is the most deficient mineral in modern man. Magnesium nourishes the nerve centre and is essential to all functions of the body. According to a famous Dr. in Denmark, it is the common denominator of persons with Asperger’s disease (which this mom believes to be the precursor of Autism, following immunizations). Magnesium is essential to the proper uptake of calcium; without it, calcium cannot be utilized by the body. Pure Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulphate) can be bathed in at least once a week, for an efficient mineral bath. (soap should not be used in the tub with the salts, as this can inhibit the uptake of the mineral)  The body will absorb only what it needs, providing an affordable and sensible way to make sure that the whole family is getting the exact amount of essential magnesium.

#9  Natrum Muriaticum ( Sodium Chloride)–Nat. Mur. is a constituent of every liquid and solid in the body. A salt craving is indicative of deficiency, but the molecules of table salt are so big they cannot attach to the cells. It is the most important cell salt of the body as all the other cells are dependent on it for their distribution. Used for delirium tremors, eyestrain, vomiting of watery mucous, hay fever, low spirits, heartburn, toothaches, craving for salt and salty foods, weak eyes, either excess of heavy sleep or insomnia, falling hair, early morning headaches, headaches with constipation, chronic constipation due to dehydration, rapid pulse intermittent with palpitation, hangnails, cracked finger tips, numbness of the hands and feet and greasy skin.

#10  Natrum Phosphoricum (Sodium Phosphate)–Nat. Phos. is found in blood, muscles, nerves and brain cells and in intracellular fluid. Converts lactic acid into its byproducts. Used for gout, stiffness, swollen joints, lumbago, inflammatory rheumatism, high cholesterol, acid blood, headaches on top of the head, sour breath, pain over and inside the eyeballs, red blotched tongue coated yellow at the root, nausea, loss of appetite and habitual constipation.

Sodium is an unstable element and will never be found in nature as a single element. When sodium finds it’s anion (companion element) it is naturally nourishing and beneficial to the body. The best way to get proper sodium is in and through our diet. Himalayan salt and Redmonds salt are the two best ways that this mom knows of to get the proper balance of naturally occurring sodium in a mineral form.

Join me again next week as we learn about the last 2 cell salts.  If you would like to go a little more in-depth with your study, check out my Podcasts on  Cell Salts.
