Is Homeopathy safe for My Pets and Farm Animals?

How do I use Homeopathy for my Pets and Farm Animals?

These are questions that I get all the time.

Let’s put it this way…I haven’t used anything EXCEPT Homeopathy on my animals for nearly twenty years now.

So, with that said. Yes. Homeopathy works amazingly well for animals and it’s easy to give! I’ve used Homeopathy for ailments like: Stone bruise, tetanus, parasites and west nile for our horses; parasites, ketosis, foot rot, retained placenta and scours for our cattle; parasites, anxiety and tumors for our dogs.

As a matter of fact, animals and children tend to respond more quickly to homeopathy than  Adults do. Why? Usually because they don’t have the mental reservations as to the efficacy of homeopathy…and they aren’t usually in the complicated disease state that adults find themselves before they seek healing.

So, yes, I use homeopathy for all my family members….the human, feathered and furry ones alike!

Homeopathy is easy to use for animals. For instance, if I’m giving my dog a remedy, I usually just put a couple pellets in the palm of my hand and she quickly laps it up. Easy! Yes.

Or, if I am going to use a D-Worm remedy, I will usually just add it to her water for a week or two at a time.

Many organic farmers will atomize a remedy to give to their animals. This is a very quick and efficient way to treat a herd of cows or other livestock.

Animals are like humans when it comes to their healing needs. Of course, they can’t actually give us verbally, the “Sensation As If” but we can observe their behavior and give remedies accordingly.

We often use the exact same remedies for our animals that we would use if we were sick.

Arsenicum for poisoning. Now a dog isn’t likely to get food poisoning, but he can accidentally eat or drink something that is toxic to his system. So, we could give Arsenicum.

Or an animal with a green discharge from the nose? We could think of Hepar sulph if his nose is dry, or Mercurious if his coat is steamy.

Belladonna or Stramonium for rabies or other viral threat.

Ledum and Hypericum for Tetanus.

The list goes on. Often our animals are saddened by the loss of a family member. Ignatia will quickly help them recover from the mopey disposition.

Recently, my daughter’s little songbird lost his companion…my daughter said, “Mom, I’m worried that Gizmo is dying of a broken heart!” (Birds tend to be very affected by the loss of a family member, many even mate for life or always live in the same area for life) Broken Heart?… give him Ignatia. So she diluted one pellet in his water…..The result was amazing! He cheered right up and began to sing again!

Homeopathy is helpful for almost EVERYTHING Animal!

This past week, my daughters came in and asked for the Parasite De-Worming kit for the Horses. This little kit is what I’ve been using to de-worm our farm animals and pets for years now. It is so effective that I have yet to have an infestation of any type of parasite for any of our animals, since we started using it!  (Find the Kit here!)

I can remember when I used to purchase Ivermectin (Ivermectin is a medication used to treat many types of parasite infestations. This includes head lice, scabies, river blindness (onchocerciasis), strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, and lymphatic filariasis. It can be taken by mouth or applied to the skin for external infestations) or a similar product to De-Worm my horses, every eight weeks!

These types of medications aren’t designed to strengthen the animal’s constitution against infestation. They are designed to kill off the immediate live parasite, leaving the larva untouched. So that after the eight-week cycle is up, we have a new hatch and a new problem!

Homeopathy works to strengthen the animal’s resistance to parasite infestation, therefore protecting them from the constant threat of infestation!

Parasites are everywhere. They live in the soil, where any animal has previously lived or defecated. They often live in the water source, or contaminated drinking trough. Parasites can pass from one live animal to another, in other words….we can work to constantly KILL Parasites within our animals. OR we can strive to have healthy animals so that they are not subject to the threat of Parasites.

These are just a few examples of the way that Homeopathy can help us to have healthy, happy animals!
