I've been asked to discuss the subject of miscarriage. This is a huge subject and can be a very emotional one as well. One of the realities of today’s world, is that the miscarriage rate in the last four years (since 2020), according to our local midwives, has increased as much as 400%. Miscarriages are so common now that almost every woman in her childbearing years, who is open to life, has experienced at least one miscarriage.
So, the subject gets larger and there's no way we can discuss all the aspects of this issue; with all the illnesses, endocrine interrupters, such as, plastics, heavy metals, and other toxins, vaccines, and the exposure to persons who have been vaccinated… etcetera.
Ultimately, God is in charge and all we can do, is what we can do.
And remember: In Homeopathy – We treat the Symptoms! And prayer doesn’t hurt!
So, our discussion will begin with conception, and a few things we can do beforehand, to aid a healthy pregnancy.
Pregnancy
In today's world with everything we're being exposed to, it's really hard to go into a pregnancy perfectly healthy! But we owe it to our children, to be as healthy as we possibly can be! It is also ideal if both parents are free of allopathic drug prescriptions as well as over the counter items.
Our hormones need to be in a good place — So, how do we know if our hormones are in that good place?
Well, a woman can actually be seen by a midwife, or your OBGYN, and have blood work done to ensure hormones are within normal range – or even begin taking her own basal body temperature.
By taking your temperature every morning before 7:00 a.m. and before you rise from bed, you can chart consecutive temperatures and see how your temperature rises at ovulation and how it drops the day of your menses onset.
You should see a strong shift in temperature at both the end of the Follicular phase as well as the Luteal phase (at least one full degree up or down). In this way, you know that your hormones are fluctuating the way that they need to be. And this tells you that your body is fully functioning and is more likely to carry a pregnancy to term. (there are a few remedies that I use when working with young mothers to help balance hormones – but this is another subject)
As humans, God has given us signs and symptoms to tell us how to read our body. I don’t like to see any married couple use these symptoms to prevent a pregnancy, unless of course there is a health issue that needs to be worked out, or possibly serious financial restrictions that have created an atmosphere of starvation or homelessness. (for religious as well as intrinsic moral reasons, I’ve seen too many marriages end unhappily when a married couple is not always open to life).
That being said – there are other things that a couple can look at which will help them to bring a healthy child into the world.
Diet. It is very important that both the mother and father eat a well balanced diet. Proper amounts of protein, green and colorful veggies, fresh fruits, grains and beans, are also important, and should organic and not come from a box. Home soaking and cooking and of course….clean spring water (if it is reverse osmosis water, it needs to be re-fortified with minerals; like Himalayan, Celtic, or Real Salt, good Electrolytes with NO sweeteners or dyes of ANY kind).
Sugar should not be on the regular diet. (ideally should be limited to almost zero). I can’t stress enough the danger of soft drinks, diet drinks, power boost drinks, etc. Fast foods are also so full of bad ingredients, preservatives and toxins, that I would have to extend this paper to book size.
Also, both mom and dad should go into their childbearing years at a good weight. Sometimes this takes a lot of self-control, but it is worth it. Ideally, a woman should not be more than 10-15 lbs. over her perfect weight, this will help her to conceive and carry a healthy child. (many studies have been done on this subject; please research)
Exercise? Of course she should be active, but not overly active! Because a woman's body is not designed for a lot of heavy, burden type work.
The rule of thumb, so-to-speak, is that once a woman conceives, she can continue to do any activity during the pregnancy that she was used to doing before she conceived… If she is used to running distance, she can continue to lightly wog (walk/jog) or walk. As far as she is comfortable doing an activity, she can continue doing so. She needs to be wise so as to not get hurt, I don’t suggest jumping, running or skydiving! (also, flying in the first trimester should be avoided, if possible; even the entire pregnancy, as some women are air pressure sensitive).
So, mother and father have been trying to get/stay healthy in preparation to start a family. Everything has been going well, and they have been blessed to conceive. But something goes wrong?
Threatened Miscarriage
There are so many reasons that a woman might miscarry. Today, the biggest reason is more than likely hormones. Even if the woman is producing normal hormones, we have the issue of endocrine interrupters. (Toxins in our blood stream that interrupt the uptake of hormones from one organ to another)
And much of this toxic exposure is out of our realm to control. Or she could have had a fright, shock, fall, illness, etc.
And here is where a woman needs to pay attention to her symptoms and what she was doing or feeling at the moment that her pregnancy is threatened.
Did she experience a fright? A trauma such as a car accident? The loss of a loved one? Abuse? Did she trip and fall? Was she exposed to a toxin? To someone who has recently had some sort of treatment or vax?
We all respond to life’s exposures and experiences differently. Any event can cause us to have a reaction, whether that reaction is mental or physical or both. It is important to realize that no two people react in the same way.
Maybe the threat appears to be only physical – there is cramping (what does the cramping feel like? Where is it located? Does it radiate to another part of the body?). Or spotting of blood? Is the blood dark red, light red, pink, or even brown? Is there nausea? Anything out of the ordinary that happens…
These are symptoms.
In homeopathy we treat the symptoms. If we look in the Repertory (book of symptoms) for Miscarriage (also known as spontaneous abortion) we find 206 remedies listed. (If you are a Member of Homeopathy for Mommies Private Members corner, you can find a complete list of these remedies and the many specific rubrics which help to define specific remedies according to the symptom)

Emotions from a Threatened or Complete Miscarriage
I’ve heard parents describe their pain of loss in many ways, From hysterical crying to hopeless depression. Again, we need to treat the symptom of this reaction to the loss. These are a few remedies that we can consider for the type of sorrow a mother and even a father might feel following the loss of a pregnancy.

What to do for an Incomplete Miscarriage
For possible retained tissue; *Caulophyllum 30c and Silicea 6c or *30c can be given in alternating doses. 2-4 doses of each daily until there is no questionable discharge.
If there is suspected sepsis; add Pyrogenium to the alternating pattern above.
If there is hemorrhage; Arnica and Belladonna should be given as needed.
Also; we can give the tincture Shepherd’s Purse one half dropperful 2-3 times daily as needed.
I hope this article helps you to feel less helpless and gives you an idea of how you can be prepared to listen to your body’s symptoms. Symptoms are messages to help you understand what remedy may help to maintain a threatened pregnancy. I’ve seen many mothers use homeopathy, along with rest, to go on to have a successful birth and healthy child.
May God Bless You and Yours,
